iTunes and iCloud are the two options that Apple provides for its users to make a backup of the data on their iOS device, including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
Here at Enigma, we recommend to all of our users that you should be backing up regularly. We know that accidental data loss can happen to anyone - believe us, we’ve pretty much heard it all when it comes to data loss stories! However, making regular backups of your device using iTunes, iCloud or 3rd party solutions like ours minimises the impact of data loss if you ever do make the dreaded mistake of deleting your data from your device.
Scheduling regular backups to iTunes and/or iCloud will ensure that you have a copy of your data to restore, if you accidentally lose or delete data, or even if you just need to transfer your data to a new iOS device. Using iTunes and iCloud for backups is also a useful way of freeing up storage on your device (we’ve all come across the dreaded ‘Storage Full’ popup at some point!), whilst being safe in the knowledge that you still have a copy of your important data saved on your computer or in the cloud.
If you ever find yourself in a situation where you have accidentally lost or deleted data from your iOS device, but you have backed up your phone to iCloud or iTunes in the past, then you can breathe a sigh of relief! Not only will you be able to use Enigma Recovery to scan your device directly, but you can also scan your backup file for data, increasing the changes that you will be able to find the data you need.
